Nim Zimmer is a Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter and pianist who transforms memory, longing, and climate grief into piano-driven, atmospheric songs that invite reflection and connection.

Rooted in improvisation and poetic storytelling, Nim’s music explores the space between chaos and beauty—crafting soundscapes that linger like graffiti on the soul: intimate, expansive, and alive.

About the EP

“Graffiti Believers” is a meditation on belief in a fractured world—how we keep creating, connecting, and expressing even as things fall apart.

The project draws inspiration from the ethos of graffiti: art as rebellion, as survival, as the need to be seen. Its title track honors the story of Michael Stewart, a young graffiti artist killed by NYC transit police in 1983, transforming his tragedy into reflection and remembrance.

The EP also includes “Dead Ideals,” a haunting reflection on Nim’s hometown shooting in Kalamazoo, and “Taking My Picture,” an abstract look at humanity’s obsession with self-documentation in the age of social media.

Together, the songs form a sonic mural—chaotic, colorful, deeply human—asking what it means to keep creating amidst decay.
